Brabus Shadow 1200 XC Video Review: An Axopar With Triple 400Rs
By the YachtWay editorial deskUpdated October 2026Video walkthrough7 min read
The Brabus Shadow 1200 XC takes the Axopar cross cabin layout and makes it look like a fighter jet. We walked the Phantom Edition at a boat show, with triple Mercury Racing 400R outboards tuned by Brabus. Outside there is an aft galley with a grill, fold-down side terraces and a big bow sunbed. Inside the glass cabin, the galley slides fore and aft, the seats swivel and a cabin below has a head, a fridge and gull-wing doors that open to the side.
Adventure boat, with the volume turned up
Axopar is known for true adventure boats, and Brabus pushes the idea further. Everything is painted, with no raw fibreglass anywhere, and the Brabus logo turns up on the cleats, the floor, the seats and the lit badge on the hardtop. There is even a pre-departure checklist at the helm, like in a fighter jet. The boat was not taken out, so we did not measure her speed.

The Brabus Shadow 1200 XC is an Axopar with attitude. It keeps the practical cross cabin layout, with a galley outside and in, side terraces and a roof rack, then adds Brabus finishes, triple Mercury Racing 400Rs and gull-wing doors. The interior is full of smart touches, from the sliding galley to the gauges in the ceiling. We did not take her out, so we cannot speak to her speed or ride.
