Christensen 145 Video Review: A 2002 Superyacht Full of Glass Art

By the YachtWay editorial deskUpdated October 2026Video walkthrough7 min read

The Christensen 145 is a 44 m American tri-deck superyacht. We walked a 2002 boat that has been upgraded over the years and still looks like new. Glass art, hand-cut stone and crystal floors and jewellery-like door knobs run through every deck. There is a Viking galley with two sinks and four fridges, an owner's suite with a steam shower and a garden wall, four guest cabins below, and a flybridge with a jacuzzi, a bar and toys on the roof.

Details you do not see on modern boats

The person who built this boat knew exactly what they wanted, and it shows in every corner. Glass work reminds you of Lalique, the floors are hand-cut stone, crystal, onyx and mirror, and even the light switches are labelled. Christensen is an American builder whose finishes stand with the best in the world. With the engines running, the boat is almost silent inside.

The verdict

This Christensen 145 is a floating museum of craftsmanship. The glass art, the hand-cut floors and the jewellery-like hardware are the kind of details that are rarely built today, and after more than 20 years she still looks new. The Viking galley, the owner's suite with its garden shower and the four themed guest cabins make her ready for long trips, and the flybridge jacuzzi and the toy deck make her fun. If you love classic superyachts, she deserves a look.
