Feadship TASIA Video Review: The 1997 Icon, Refitted in 2022

By the YachtWay editorial deskUpdated October 2026Video walkthrough7 min read

TASIA is a 48 m Feadship launched in 1997, with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure. A 2022 refit brought a full mechanical overhaul and a new interior that stays true to the original design by Guido de Groot. We walked her at the Palm Beach boat show, from the main salon to the engine room. The owner's suite has a bathtub under a skylight, four guest cabins sit below, and the sun deck has a gym, a grill and a jacuzzi.

A classic modernised without losing its soul

Feadship builds almost everything in-house, and on TASIA you see it in every detail, from the curved wooden doors to the drains laser-cut with an F. The 2022 refit refreshed the interior with new materials while keeping her curves. The owner, a motor racing fan, treated her like a race car, so the engine room looks like the day she launched. Even the doors open with a tap of your foot.

The verdict

TASIA shows how to modernise a classic. The 2022 refit refreshed her interior and her systems while keeping the curves and the woodwork that make her a Feadship. The owner's suite with its skylit bathtub, the bridge deck with glass wind doors and the sun deck with a gym and jacuzzi give her real character. With an engine room that looks brand new, she is ready for many more years at sea. We did not sea trial her, so we cannot speak to the ride.
