No yachting enthusiast can deny the enduring legacy Ferretti Group has had on the industry, and few elements of yachting have gone untouched by the group's expertise or leadership. And by all appearances that trend looks likely to continue!

In a strategic move to shape the future of Italy's yachting industry, Ferretti Group has partnered with the University of Bologna to launch a Master's Degree program in Nautical Engineering. This initiative aims to equip aspiring engineers with specialized skills in areas such as hydrodynamics, composite materials, and propulsion systems, essential for the design and production of luxury yachts. The program commenced during the 2024-25 academic year at the University of Bologna's Forlì campus.

Of the endeavor, Ferretti Group stated, "We’re excited to welcome these talented young students and to help them discover a dynamic industry offering multiple opportunities. Ferretti Group wants to build a bridge between academia and industry, actively contributing to the training of local professionals who will shape the future of Italian yachting. Initiatives like this are essential to inspire new generations to choose a path of excellence and support them in their choice”.

This exciting educational opportunity will be showcased at an orientation event slated for February 14, at the state-of-the-art Ferretti production centre in Forlì. Through this gathering, students currently enrolled in three-year engineering programs across Italy will gain invaluable insights into the advanced course offered by the Forlì campus of Unibo. This initiative highlights Ferretti Group’s commitment to bridge the gap between academia and industry by giving aspiring engineers exposure to cutting-edge advancements in yachting.

The Master’s curriculum addresses critical areas vital for future yacht design, including hydrodynamics, composite materials, and propulsion systems. This educational endeavor is supported by a consortium including the Emilia-Romagna Regional Administration, the Municipality of Forlì, the Cassa dei Risparmi di Forlì Foundation, and the Romagna Chamber of Commerce. By bridging the gap between academia and industry, the partnership seeks to nurture the next generation of leaders in Italian yachting, ensuring the sector's continued growth and innovation.
