Fjord 440 Open Makes Its US Premiere at FLIBS
The Fjord 440 Open had its world premiere in Cannes in September. FLIBS is its first show in the US. You will find it at the Fjord Miami stand, slip FG 6A on F/G Dock at Bahia Mar.

The Fjord 440 Open under way.
The 440 sits on the proven Fjord 41 XL hull. Almost everything above it is new: engines, aft deck, T-top, helm, seats and interior.
"That's why we call it a revolution."
Andrea Zambonini, product manager, Fjord, to YachtWay in CannesFrom the aft bench to the bow

A bench that turns around
The aft backrest flips at the touch of a button. The lounge faces the cockpit for dinner, then faces the sea for a swim stop. Fjord calls it a world first. It comes electric, manual or not at all.

The T-top does the work
The T-top carries the bimini, the side shades and a 55-inch TV that lowers when you want it. Glass runs the length of the hull, so the boat looks light under it.

A bow you can lean back in
The bow has a large sunbed with a backrest that reclines, so you can sit up and face forward under way. Put up the bow shade on its carbon poles and it becomes a quiet spot away from the cockpit. Speakers sit on both sides, with a control for volume and tracks within reach.
Built from the helm seats out
Fjord started with the seats and measured the space between people sitting side by side. The helm has twin 19-inch displays, Garmin EmpirBus control you can run from a phone, and a joystick.
"We start with this, and then we build the fiberglass around, not the other way around."
Andrea Zambonini, FjordTwo cabins below
Design Unlimited did the interior, as it did for the first Fjord 40. There are two cabins, real hardwood floors and a full-beam guest cabin aft with standing room under the helm.
Sterndrives by choice
Twin Volvo Penta D6-340 sterndrives come standard. Twin D6-480s are the upgrade, for 960 hp. Fjord chose sterndrives over pod drives for a sportier ride and a shorter engine room, which leaves more space for guests.
Two choices on deck, two below

Standard or lounge
The standard cockpit has a sunbed with backrest, two benches and two folding tables on electric legs. At the helm: a pilot seat, two co-pilot seats and galley modules port and starboard.
The lounge cockpit has benches all round and two tables, with no sunbed, and four seats across the helm. Both get two drawer fridges. Take the standard for sunbathing, the lounge for seating a crowd at dinner. The side-deck light package only comes with the standard cockpit.

Lobby or galley, open or private
The centre of the cabin is either a lobby with a small sofa and a 35 l drawer fridge, or a galley with a two-ring electric cooktop, a 49 l fridge and a sink.
Open plan gives one wardrobe and an opening skylight in the owner's cabin. The private version adds a sliding door in the main bulkhead, two wardrobes and a door on the guest cabin. Mix the two and you get the four layouts in the drawing.
Build your own
You can spec the 440 from the layout up. Hull in signal white or a painted colour, black waterline, and nine teak deck finishes from real teak to scrubbed grey. Thirteen upholstery colours outside and two inside. Then add packages: covers, navigation, Smart Connection with a router and interior camera, lights, and two JL Audio sound packages. Navigation Package Plus adds Volvo dynamic positioning with assisted docking.
