Princess has built its first center console. The C48 Open is a day boat on a Michael Peters hull with up to 1,800 hp of outboards, and it makes its world debut at Bahia Mar on Wednesday 28 October at 11 am.

From Princess's own C48 Open flythrough.

The C48 is Princess's first entry into the center-console and day boat market. It comes in two versions, the C48 Open and the C48 Deck Saloon, and the Open is the one launching at FLIBS. Bernard Olesinski Limited drew the exterior architecture. Princess's in-house team, led by Andy Lawrence, did the styling and the interior.

"The C48 represents a defining moment for Princess as we introduce an entirely new expression of the brand. It brings together exhilarating performance, innovative engineering, contemporary design and the exceptional quality for which Princess is known."

Hull

Air under the hull

The C48 runs on Michael Peters' patented Stepped Vee Ventilated Tunnel hull. It channels air beneath the running surface to cut drag and create lift. A central tunnel with vertical sidewalls works like a keel, for grip in turns and less roll and pitch.

Outboards or diesels

Choose three Mercury Verado outboards, V10 or V12, or two Volvo D6-480 diesels on inboards. The V12 outboards make it the fastest of the three.

The Open keeps the whole main deck open to the air, from the stern to the helm, with a hardtop overhead.

Saloon or cabin, your call

Below, the Open has a lower saloon with a convertible dinette, a lobby with storage, a day head and an aft cabin. This render adds the optional lower galley. A forward cabin can take the place of the saloon instead.

The C48 Deck Saloon puts a lounge, a galley and the helm inside. Triple sliding patio doors open to the cockpit, twin doors serve the helm, and a sliding roof is an option. Drag across the picture to compare the two.
