One of the most spectacular finales in global sport returns this December as the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix roars back to Yas Marina Circuit. Since its debut in 2009, Abu Dhabi’s night race has become a magnet for superyachts, celebrities, and motorsport loyalists: and in 2025, it promises one of the most tightly contested championship battles in recent years.

From 5–7 December, the season will come to a close on the 5.281-kilometre circuit, where the title fight between Lando Norris, Max Verstappen, and Oscar Piastri will be decided under the floodlights. Norris leads by just 12 points, with 25 still on the table, setting the scene for what will most certainly be a dramatic showdown.

For the global yachting crowd, few events blend motorsport and maritime lifestyle quite like Abu Dhabi. Berths line the circuit itself, superyacht parties spill into the night, and the city transforms into a three-day festival of speed, sound, and spectacle.

A Brief History of the Yas Marina Circuit

Just 15 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport, the Yas Marina Circuit was designed by Hermann Tilke and made its debut in 2009 with a win by Sebastian Vettel. Since then, it has crowned champions including Hamilton, Raikkonen, Rosberg, Bottas, and Verstappen.

The track combines slow, technical opening and closing sections with a 1.2km straight (the circuit’s primary overtaking zone) between turns five and six. The reprofiled 5.28km layout introduced in 2021 tightened the racing even further, making Abu Dhabi’s finale a mainstay of modern Formula 1 drama.

Where Superyacht Guests Watch the Race

Yas Marina becomes one of the world’s most exclusive temporary “harbours” during race week. Like Monaco, the marina hosts yachts right against the circuit: though only select berths offer true trackside viewing.

Trackside Berths (35–60m yachts)

The most coveted positions in the marina place you just metres from the south circuit, with direct views of braking zones and acceleration points. These berths are limited and are snapped up far in advance by owners, charter clients, and corporate hospitality groups.

Non-Track Berths (Smaller vessels)

Perfect for those wanting the energy of race week without a front-row view. The marina’s big screens, grandstands, and promenades ensure the action is still close by.

Visitor Berths Outside the Marina (175m+ yachts)

Some of the world’s largest private yachts anchor just outside Yas Marina and still enjoy views of the circuit, paired with tender access to the race and after-events.

Whether you charter a yacht, host clients, or attend an official F1 hospitality program, the marina weekend is every bit as exciting as the race itself.

The Yas Island Party Circuit

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is as famous for its nightlife as it is for its racing.

At Etihad Park, headline artists close out each night with some of the biggest performances of the year:

4 December: Benson Boone
5 December: Post Malone & Elyanna
6 December: Metallica
7 December: Katy Perry (post-qualifying show)

Additional after-parties, including Keinemusik’s Friday night performance, extend the festivities well into the morning.

Grand Prix Party Yachts

These floating venues are staples of the UAE race weekend. Some offer full hospitality packages; others are private owner-hosted affairs where racing royalty and yachting circles blend into one unforgettable evening.

Beyond the Circuit: Yas Island Experiences

While the Grand Prix dominates the skyline, Yas Island offers an entire world of luxury, adventure, and culture waiting just steps away from the marina. Between qualifying sessions, late-night concerts, and superyacht soirées, guests can explore one of the UAE’s most dynamic leisure destinations.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi
