Maxim MAX44 R Video Review: Triple Yamahas and a Matte Black Finish
By the YachtWay editorial deskUpdated October 2026Video walkthrough7 min read
The Maxim MAX44 R is a 46 ft dayboat built in Spain and designed by Alex Cherigny. We walked one with triple Yamaha 450 outboards at a boat show. The hull is matte grey and the cleats, anchor and fittings are matte black. On deck there is a toy locker under the sunbed, two dining areas, a galley with two fridges and a carbon helm, and below there is a forward bed, a lounge bed and a head with a rain shower.
A sporty dayboat with a murdered-out look
We started at the stern, where three Yamaha 450s hang off the transom with a walkway behind them. The gunwales are tall and wide enough to sit on, and the matte grey hull carries matte black cleats and fittings all the way to the anchor. The hardtop sits high and runs right down to a curved windshield, so the helm stays quiet. Below deck there is more room than you expect.
