StanCraft Hammerhead 390HT Video Review: A Mahogany Speedboat
By the YachtWay editorial deskUpdated October 2026Video walkthrough6 min read
The StanCraft Hammerhead 390HT is a 39 ft speedboat with a full mahogany hull and a carbon fibre hardtop. HT stands for hardtop. We walked her in Miami in this re-edit of one of our favourite Spotlights. Twin Ilmor 520 engines sit under the aft sunbed, and the helm mixes a wooden wheel and analog gauges with a Garmin screen and a joystick. There is a love seat, a small galley, a head and a bow lounge with high backrests.
Classic style with modern hardware
StanCraft has built boats since 1933, and the company has stayed in the same family for three generations. The 390HT keeps the classic look: a mahogany hull, wooden trim and lines from another era. Underneath it is a modern boat, with twin Ilmor 520s, a carbon fibre hardtop, wireless chargers and a joystick. Even the drawers are lined with felt so nothing rattles at speed.
