Designed by the internationally respected yacht architects Judel/Vrolijk & Co. and built by Hanse Yachts in Germany, this 2009 Hanse 630E represents one of the finest luxury performance cruisers of its generation. Constructed using advanced epoxy sandwich technology, the yacht delivers exceptional strength, reduced weight and outstanding offshore capability. Measuring 19.00 metres in length and powered by a Yanmar 160 HP diesel engine with a 2.95m draft, she has been carefully specified for serious bluewater sailing while offering the comfort and refinement expected from a premium cruising yacht.
The Hanse 630E combines elegant styling with practical deck arrangements designed for effortless handling by a small crew. Wide teak side decks, flush deck hatches, retractable mooring cleats and an uncluttered foredeck create a clean and secure working environment whether sailing offshore or relaxing at anchor. The dark blue hull, professionally repainted in 2021, complements the yacht’s sleek profile, while the hydraulic opening transom transforms into a generous bathing platform with integrated tender storage. A Besenzoni hydraulic passerelle, hot and cold deck shower, compressor for the tender and spacious cockpit create an ideal setting for Mediterranean cruising.
The large cockpit has been designed to combine comfort with efficient sail handling. Twin black steering pedestals fitted with carbon steering wheels provide excellent visibility under sail, while electrically operated Lewmar winches simplify manoeuvres. Two folding teak cockpit tables convert into generous sunbeds, creating an inviting outdoor living area. Additional comforts include twin cockpit refrigerators, premium cushions, a black sprayhood and bimini, cockpit speakers and numerous storage solutions for halyards and sailing equipment.
Performance is one of this yacht’s defining characteristics. The white-painted Nordic Mast carbon mast and matching Park Avenue carbon boom work alongside renewed rod rigging, hydraulic Navtec backstay tensioners and hydraulic boom vang to deliver precise sail control. The impressive sail inventory includes a fully battened OneSails laminate mainsail, self-tacking jib, Code Zero, furling genoa, two gennakers, storm jib and trysail, allowing the yacht to perform confidently in everything from light Mediterranean breezes to demanding offshore conditions.
Navigation has been equipped to professional standards with a comprehensive B&G H3000 system. Multiple B&G 20/20 Maxi displays provide clear sailing data both at the mast and helm positions, complemented by Zeus2 multifunction displays, GPS, radar, AIS transponder, Simrad VHF, Furuno Navtex and a retractable Maxpower bow thruster. Updated electronics ensure reliable navigation whether cruising along the coast or undertaking extended ocean passages.
Below deck, the owner’s three-cabin layout offers a bright and refined interior finished in American cherry wood with contrasting light maple-style flooring. Large hull windows and deck hatches allow abundant natural light to enter the saloon, creating an inviting atmosphere for both everyday living and entertaining. The spacious saloon features comfortable seating, elegant dining areas and a Bose surround sound system, while the U-shaped galley is equipped with Corian worktops, twin Isotherm refrigerators, a three-burner gas cooker with oven and generous storage for extended voyages.
Accommodation has been thoughtfully designed for privacy and comfort. The forward owner’s suite features a generous double berth, private seating area, ample wardrobe space and an elegant en-suite bathroom with separate shower. Two equally spacious aft guest cabins each offer double berths and private bathroom facilities, making the yacht equally suitable for family cruising or extended passages with guests. A dedicated utility room houses a Miele washing machine, additional storage and a practical sea berth, providing valuable functionality for longer stays onboard.
The yacht has benefited from continuous investment and careful maintenance throughout its life. Significant upgrades completed between 2021 and 2023 include new standing and running rigging, a complete wardrobe of OneSails performance sails, updated navigation electronics, renewed upholstery, new battery charging systems, upgraded hot water system, engine overhaul, new alternator and numerous electrical improvements. Together with the Fisher Panda 15kW generator, Victron inverter, Mastervolt charging equipment, 100-litre-per-hour watermaker and full air conditioning throughout, these upgrades allow extended periods away from shore with complete independence.
Offering the rare combination of German engineering, advanced epoxy construction, carbon spars, premium sailing equipment and luxurious owner’s accommodation, this Hanse 630E presents an outstanding opportunity for sailors seeking a fast, capable and beautifully equipped bluewater cruiser. Whether crossing oceans, exploring the Mediterranean or enjoying extended liveaboard adventures, she delivers exceptional comfort, reliability and performance in equal measure.
