Cigarette 42 Auroris Video Review: Quad 500Rs and 67 Knots in Miami

By the YachtWay editorial deskUpdated October 2026Video walkthrough8 min read

The Cigarette 42 Auroris is a 42 ft walkaround built in Miami, with four Mercury Racing 500R outboards and 2,000 hp. We walked one from the transom to the cabin, then took her out. She has an aft sunbed that slides out, a grill and two fridge drawers, a pop-up TV, a U-shaped bow lounge and a cabin with a head and shower. On our run she reached about 67 knots (77 mph) without much trim.

A Miami icon with room to relax

Cigarette is as Miami as it gets, and the 42 Auroris shows the brand is about more than speed. The aft deck has an ice box, fridges, a grill and a TV that rises at the push of a button, with Starlink for Wi-Fi offshore. The bow lounge turns into a sunbed, and below there is a cabin with a head. Then you open the throttles on four 500Rs.

The verdict

The 42 Auroris lives up to the Cigarette name. On our run she reached about 67 knots and turned smoothly at speed, with plenty more on offer. But the boat is just as good at anchor, with a sliding sunbed, a grill, a pop-up TV and a bow lounge that turns into a sunbed. A cabin with a head makes longer days easy. She is built to get you to the sandbar first and keep you comfortable once you are there.
