Omikron OT60 Video Review: A Light, Shallow Trawler for the Loop
By the YachtWay editorial deskUpdated October 2026Video walkthrough7 min read
The Omikron OT60 is a 60 ft trawler from Greece, built light and efficient with ideas borrowed from sailing yachts. We walked hull number one out of the water at boot Düsseldorf, where she was shown in the sailing hall. She draws about 2.8 ft and runs on Yanmar diesels, with a quoted range of 1,000 nm at 8 kn. Aft there is a tender crane that becomes a passerelle. The main deck has a huge beam, a salon with a sofa bed and a raised helm. Below are an owner's cabin, two guest cabins and a crew cabin.
Built for the Great Loop and the Bahamas
The OT60 is about enjoying the trip, not racing to the next stop. Her shallow draft and centre keel suit the Bahamas and the Great Loop, and the foam-cored panels keep her light. She won European Powerboat of the Year 2024. Sailing touches are everywhere, from the anchor setup to a saltwater tap in the galley. Breakers and wiring are clearly labelled, so owners can fix things on their own.

The Omikron OT60 rethinks the trawler with ideas from sailing yachts. She is light, shallow and efficient, with a quoted 1,000 nm range at 8 kn. Inside, the wide beam and high ceilings make her feel far bigger than 60 ft, and four cabins give room for family and crew. As hull number one she has a few small things to refine, like the bow thruster placement. We saw her on land, so we cannot speak to the ride.
