Greenline 42 Video Review: 4.5 kW of Solar and Silent Nights at Anchor

By the YachtWay editorial deskUpdated October 2026Video walkthrough7 min read

The Greenline 42 is a 44 ft cruiser built around three promises: no noise, no smell and no vibration. We walked the boat at its world premiere at boot Düsseldorf. A 4.5 kW solar array on the hardtop charges a battery bank, so you can stay at anchor without running a generator. She has an aft deck that opens to the galley, a lounge with a pop-up TV, a bow sunbed, two cabins and twin Yanmar diesels.

A quiet boat for nights at anchor

Greenline's pitch is simple: no noise, no smell and no vibration. Ten solar panels on the hardtop feed a battery bank, and a two-hour run between anchorages tops it up again. The boat we filmed is the first one, on twin Yanmar diesels without the electric motor, but it still runs the house from the batteries. The interior by Marco Casali flows straight out to the cockpit.

What stood out on board

  • A 4.5 kW solar roof
Ten panels sit on the hardtop with an air gap below to keep them cool and working at their best.
  • Nights without a generator
The batteries run the boat at anchor, and a two-hour run charges them again.
  • A galley that opens to the cockpit
The aft window lifts and a bar counter slides out, so the inside and outside become one.
  • Big deck lockers
Room for paddle boards, toys and fenders on both sides of the cockpit.
  • A wide side door at the helm
Larger than before, so the captain can step out and dock short-handed.
  • A flexible lower deck
The second head can become a walk-in closet, a vanity or a laundry with a washer-dryer.

The verdict

The Greenline 42 is built for quiet days and quieter nights. The solar roof and battery bank let you stay at anchor without a generator, and the galley opens to the cockpit so the boat lives as one space. The deck lockers, the wide helm door and the flexible lower deck show how much thought went into how owners use the boat. If silent nights at anchor matter to you, she is worth a close look.
