Focus 3X Video Review: The Dutch Grand Tourer With a Glass Roof
By the YachtWay editorial deskUpdated October 2026Video walkthrough7 min read
The Focus 3X is a 38 ft sports cruiser built in the Netherlands as a grand tourer for the sea. We walked her in Miami on a chilly morning and took her out on the water. The side windows rise and the glass sunroof closes at the push of a button, so the cockpit goes from open-air to enclosed in seconds. Below deck there is a galley, a lounge with a TV, an owner's cabin forward and a head with a rain shower.
Open-air one minute, enclosed the next
We filmed on a 48 degree morning in Miami, which was the perfect test for the 3X's party trick. With the cockpit open she feels like a beach club. Push a button and the side windows rise, then the glass sunroof slides shut and you are sitting in a sheltered cruiser. The carbon helm, the Yanmar diesels and the Seakeeper 3 show this is a serious boat too.

The Focus 3X does two jobs well. On a warm day the cockpit is wide open with a big sunbed and seating for six, and on a cold morning the windows rise and the roof closes around you. Details like the magnetic glasses, the carbon helm and the chain lock show real care. Below deck there is a galley, a lounge with a TV and a full owner's cabin, so a night on board is easy. With a Seakeeper and Yanmar diesels, she is built for long days out.
