Van der Valk Helga Video Review: A Quiet 27 m Dutch Superyacht

By the YachtWay editorial deskUpdated October 2026Video walkthrough6 min read

Helga is a 27 m (88 ft) aluminium motor yacht built by Van der Valk in 2021, with exterior and interior by Guido de Groot. We walked her at the Cannes Yachting Festival. She has a bow sunpad, an aft deck that zips closed with infrared heaters, a hydraulic swim platform with a tender, a large flybridge with a crane and a bar, a light oak salon with heated floors, a bright lower helm and four cabins below.

Dutch detail and a very quiet ride

Van der Valk builds in aluminium, and Helga shows the Dutch eye for detail, down to a laser-cut logo in the deck drains. The owner wanted her as quiet as possible, so the generators sit in sound boxes on special mounts, and inside she is quieter than a library. Heated floors and an aft deck that can be closed and heated stretch the Mediterranean season.

The verdict

Helga is a well built, very quiet yacht with real attention to detail. The heated aft deck and floors make her usable for more of the year, the flybridge is huge and the lower helm is a lovely place for guests as well as crew. The four cabins all have their own heads, and the owner's suite is generous. For Mediterranean cruising or charters, she is a refined Dutch option.
